Vinay Tewatia made a mark for himself in the Pro Kabaddi Season 7 as he played as one of the lead raiders for Haryana Steelers. Vinay went on to score 125 raid points in 23 matches and was one of the highest raid point scorers of the tournament. Vinay carved his name as one of the emerging faces of the league as he partnered with Vikas Kandola and Naveen for the team.
Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, Vinay has been spending time at his home with no Kabaddi action to look forward to. Kabaddi Adda spoke to the youngster to find out how he is coping up with the lockdown and what are the activities he is doing to make sure he remains in the form. Read the full interview here:
Q: How are you practicing during the lockdown?
Vinay: Since it is not possible to go to the gym for training, I am doing my daily exercises at home. Every morning, I wake up and go for a run as there are not many people at that time. I then come back home and do my workout on the terrace. I do a bit of weight and strength training at home. I also do some exercise in the evening as well.
Q: Are you finding practicing hard as you do not have any partners?
Vinay: Yes, it is very difficult to practice when you do not have a team. Kabaddi is a team game and it is really important that you have partners with you to practice better. However, I have my younger brother to practice with. We do some raiding practice daily.
Q: What diet are you following now?
Vinay: I am having a normal diet with an increased intake of curd and milk. It is difficult to maintain a proper diet when you are at home for a long time and not practicing.

Q: What positive outcomes you see for yourself during the lockdown?
Vinay: I am getting a lot of time to spend with my family and I am really happy about it. It is tough to find time for family when you keep on traveling for tournaments and matches. I am able to spend time with my family after a long period. I think that is essential.
Q: Have you picked up any new hobbies now that you are at home?
Vinay: Me, my brother and other members play carrom a lot. We had not played in a long time and now we are finding time to play carom daily. It is so much fun with many people at home to play carom with.
