The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) announced the dates of the national Kabaddi championships to take place in 2020 on the 15th of January. The months of February and March will be busy months for Kabaddi as a total of three tournaments have been announced in a matter of two months. Along with the dates of Senior National Kabaddi Championships, the top association for Kabaddi also announced the dates for the Junior National Kabaddi Championships and Circle Style Kabaddi Championships 2020.
In a meeting held in December 2019, the association had decided on the locations of the tournament while a tentative schedule was put out. However, the association put out the final dates of the tournament on Wednesday.
The national kabaddi calendar will begin with the Junior National Kabaddi Championships 2020. The 46th edition of the games will begin from 13th February and will go on till the 16th of February. Both boys and the girls' event will be held in the city of Rohtak in Haryana. The Amateur Kabaddi Association of Haryana had volunteered to organize the tournament earlier in the Special General Body Meeting of AKFI.
The town of Talwandi Sabo in Bhatinda will be host to the Circle Style Kabaddi Championships. The 15th edition of the tournament will be held in the state of Punjab from 12st to 23rd of February. Punjab Kabaddi Association will be responsible for conducting the tournament.
In March 2020, the Senior National Kabaddi Championships for Men and Women will be held in the Jaipur. The capital of Rajasthan will host both the men's and the women's edition of the tournament from 3rd to 7th March. The 67th Men's Senior National Kabaddi Championships will see champions like Dharmaraj Cheralathan, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Mohit Chillar, and Shrikant Jadhav participate in the tournament. All the Kabaddi Associations from India along with teams from Railways, Services, and others would also participate in the tournament.
