Born on 12th February 1988 to a relatively poor family, Raju Lal Choudhary is one of the most experienced Kabaddi players in India. Hailing from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Raju Lal is a stout right corner defender who has plied his trade for Services and Rajasthan in the regional tournaments. He started playing Kabaddi at a young age and impressed many during the Junior Nationals in 2007. The exploits of a 19-year-old right corner did not go unnoticed.

Raju Lal Choudhary PKL Career

He is one of those experienced players who has played all seasons of PKL. For the first three seasons in PKL, Raju was in the Jaipur Pink Panthers dugout (helping them to win the inaugural title during his tenure). Since Season 5 he has been a constant pick of Bengaluru Bulls and provides experience and depth to the Bull's squad.

He is one of the few players in PKL history to have won two titles with two different teams (Season 1 Jaipur and Season 6 Bengaluru). His best season came in Season 6 where he had a good hand in helping Bulls to the title. According to Bengaluru Bulls' coach Randhir Singh, Raju's experience provides depth to the squad and during training, he provides raiders like Pawan and Rohit the challenge they need to make themselves better and sharper. He was barely used in Season 7 by the Bulls and could not repeat his performances from Season 6.

Skills

He believes in working on fitness and his game all year round and maintains himself at the peak of his fitness and plays many regional and local tournaments. Raju is famous for his lightning fast chain block with the right-in player subduing the raider's movement.

He was a surprise selection in the 2018 Asian Games Indian team replacing Ravinder Pahal.
