PKL-12: Telugu Titans register their third consecutive win, defeat Patna Pirates 37-28

With the help of captain Vijay Malik and all-rounder Bharat, Telugu Titans defeated Patna Pirates 37-28 in the 55th match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 held at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.
After their sixth win in 11 matches and third consecutive victory, Telugu Titans have now moved to third place with 12 points. Patna Pirates, on the other hand, suffered their seventh defeat in nine matches.
For the winning side Telugu, Vijay Malik scored 13 points, Bharat added eight, and Ankit contributed four. For Patna, only Ayan stood tall, scoring 13 points for his team.
Chasing a hat-trick of wins this season, Telugu Titans, led by Vijay Malik, made a strong start. In the first ten minutes of play, Malik scored four points, while Patna’s Maninder Singh was tackled out twice. Thanks to Ayan’s efforts, Patna trailed by just one point as the score read 8-7 in favor of the Titans.
In the 13th minute of the match, Ayan pulled off a three-point super raid to give Patna the lead for the first time. Sudhakar M also added points to strengthen Patna’s advantage. However, Telugu bounced back to level the score at 12-12.
Patna’s problem was that Maninder was completely off-color, getting dismissed for the third consecutive time. Still, Pirates led 16-15 at half-time, with Ayan having already scored nine points. With this, Ayan also completed 100 points for the season.
After the start of the second half, Telugu Titans regained the lead by executing a super tackle on Ayan, though he returned soon after. By the 25th minute, the teams were tied at 20-20, but then, powered by Bharat and a strong defense, Telugu pulled ahead 24-20 by the 30th minute.
In the 32nd minute, the Titans inflicted an all-out on Patna to stretch the score to 29-21. Patna’s defense looked completely out of rhythm, and by the 35th minute, the team trailed by 10 points. Meanwhile, Telugu’s captain Vijay Malik completed his Super 10, while Ayan too secured his fifth Super 10 of the season.
In the final minutes of play, Telugu Titans were already ahead by nearly 10 points. In the last minute, captain Vijay Malik struck again with a three-point super raid, sealing a brilliant 37-28 win for the Titans.
