Early Kabaddi Career
Pooja started playing kabaddi when she was between 13-16 years old after being inspired by the kabaddi culture of her village. Rindhana is known as a kabaddi hub that has produced many international-level players. She participated in various state, national, and international level kabaddi championships during her early career.
Professional Career
In 2021, Pooja Narwal started playing kabaddi for the Indian Railways team. She plays as a raider and wears jersey number 10. In 2021, she participated in the 67th Women’s Kabaddi National Championship organized in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and won a medal.
Major Achievement
In 2022, Pooja was part of the Indian women’s kabaddi team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The Indian team defeated Chinese Taipei in the final match with a score of 26-25. This was a historic achievement as the gold medal was India’s 100th medal at the Asian Games, marking the first time India crossed the 100-medal mark at a single Asian Games.

Pooja Narwal is married to Sandeep Dhull, who is also a kabaddi player. They got married on November 20, 2023. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall. She is a fitness enthusiast who regularly goes to the gym and shares pictures of her fitness journey on social media. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, swimming, and dancing.

Current Status
Pooja Narwal is part of the Indian women’s kabaddi team squad for the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025, which will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from November 17 to 24, 2025. The team is being coached by Kavita Selvaraj, with Head Coach Tejaswini Bai and Assistant Coach Priyanka. The Indian team is aiming to defend its title after winning the first Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in 2012.
