Bhavna Devi was born on January 16, 1999, in Baila village, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. She is 26 years old. She comes from a humble farming background where her father, Prem Singh, works as a farmer, and her mother, Dassi, manages the household. She has an elder brother and three elder sisters who provide her with family support, though none of them play kabaddi.

Early Kabaddi Career

Bhavna started her kabaddi journey at the age of 14. She has actively represented her school, college, district, and state in kabaddi competitions. Her passion for the sport grew over the years, and she eventually found her way into elite training programs.

Bhavna Devi is a Right Cover Defender, meaning she plays on the right side of the defense. She is known for her formidable blocking skills and sharp defensive techniques. Despite being a professional kabaddi player, Bhavna continues her academic pursuits. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in History, balancing her sports career with her educational aspirations. Current Status

Bhavna Devi is part of the Indian women’s kabaddi team squad for the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025, which will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from November 17 to 24, 2025. The team is led by captain Ritu Negi with vice-captain Pushpa Rana. The team is being coached by Tejaswini Bai (Head Coach) and Kavita Selvaraj (Assistant Coach). India aims to defend its title after winning the inaugural Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in 2012. Bhavna’s defensive expertise will be crucial for the team’s success in the tournament.
