PKL 11 is all set to take place in Hyderabad, Noida, and Pune, kicking off on October 18
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 will begin on 18 October 2024. However, the date for the finals has yet to be declared. The preparations and training by all the 12 franchises are at their peak as every team wants to get their hand on the coveted trophy. In the previous season, PKL saw a 12-city caravan format but this time it will be played in three locations - Noida, Hyderabad and Pune.
The 2024 edition of PKL will commence at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on October 18. Hyderabad leg of the PKL 11 will end on 8 November. The Gachibowli Indoor Stadium serves as a home ground for the Telugu Titans. The Titans may get home crowd advantage in this leg and can do better than the previous season.
Then the caravan will move to Noida. The Noida leg will start on November 9 and end on December 2. All the matches in Noida will be played at Noida Indoor Stadium, which is also home ground for UP Yoddhas. The UP-based franchise will look to take home advantage and covert it to the fullest.
Lastly, the final league stage matches will be held at Balewadi Badminton Stadium in Pune, starting from December 3 onwards. This stadium will be home to the defending champion Puneri Paltan as they look towards winning another title. Meanwhile, the date and venue for the playoffs will be announced later.
After the announcement of the dates for PKL 11, Anupam Goswami, Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League, said, “We are delighted to announce the start date and venues for PKL Season 11. After successfully completing 10 seasons, PKL Season 11 will mark a new milestone in the continued rise of the league. This would strengthen the growth of Kabaddi in India and elsewhere around the world.”
Notably, the auction for the PKL 11 was held on 15th and 16th August 2024. The PKL 11 player auction saw a record-breaking 8 crorepatis (8 players valued equal to or more than 1 crore rupees).
