Himanshu Singh Powered Gujarat Giants to crucial win over Tamil Thalaivas, helps them to move at 7th Spot on Points Table

Riding on a brilliant performance from Himanshu Singh and a strong team defence, the Gujarat Giants secured a convincing 42-35 victory over the Tamil Thalaivas at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday. With this win, the Giants have moved to the seventh position, now occupying a Playoff spot. Himanshu led from the front a Super 10, while the Giants’ defenders stayed alert and turned several crucial moments into points.
The Giants started the match strongly, earning the first point through a solid tackle by Shadloui. Himanshu Singh then followed it up with a successful raid to give the Giants early momentum. The Tamil Thalaivas finally opened their account when Arjun Deshwal picked up their first point.

The Giants continued to dominate the early exchanges, showing confidence in both attack and defence. They quickly built a 7-3 lead, keeping the pressure on the Thalaivas with sharp raids and well-timed tackles. Their strong performance soon paid off as they inflicted the first ALL OUT of the match, extending their advantage to 14-6.
Maintaining complete control of the game, the Gujarat Giants pushed further ahead to 19-6 before the Strategic Time Out was called in the first half. After the play resumed, the Tamil Thalaivas fought back with a strong Super Tackle, cutting the deficit to 19-9.
However, their momentum didn’t last long as the Giants quickly regained control. They continued their aggressive play and soon inflicted another ALL OUT, stretching their lead to 24-10.
During this dominant phase, Himanshu Singh completed his Super 10, showing his consistency in attack. The Giants maintained their rhythm on both ends of the mat and went into the halftime leading 27-14, firmly in command of the match.
The story remained pretty much the same in the second half, as the Giants continued to dominate and extend their lead with some excellent defensive work. Within the first five minutes of the second half, the Giants had pushed their lead to 15 points, showing complete control over the match.
Arjun Deshwal put up a strong performance for the Tamil Thalaivas, completing his Super 10 and keeping his team in the contest. However, his efforts weren’t enough to shift the momentum, as the Giants maintained control and went into the Strategic Time Out comfortably ahead at 35-22.
When play resumed, the Thalaivas fought back, with Moein Shafaghi producing a brilliant Super Raid to earn three crucial points, reducing the gap to 36-27. They built on that momentum by inflicting an ALL OUT, bringing the score closer at 38-31.
Despite this late surge, the Giants remained composed and did not let the Thalaivas take over. Strong raids and solid defence helped them keep the lead steady, and they eventually sealed a convincing and important seven-point victory.
