Early Life & Family
Parteek Dahiya was born on June 11, 2002, in Sonipat district of Haryana. He comes from a simple farming family where his father works as a farmer and his mother is a homemaker. However, his family has strong connections to sports that shaped his kabaddi journey.
The most important person in Parteek’s kabaddi career is his maternal uncle, Deepak Niwas Hooda. Deepak is a famous kabaddi player who has played for the Indian national team and also served as the captain. Moreover, his sister Preeti Dahiya is an international level boxer who won a bronze medal at the Asian Boxing Championships. Additionally, his maternal aunt Sweety Boora is also an international boxer.
Parteek Dahiya started playing kabaddi because his uncle Deepak Niwas Hooda inspired him. From a young age, Parteek showed more interest in kabaddi than his studies. Parteek Dahiya’s Pro Kabaddi League journey started in Season 8 when Patna Pirates bought him in the auction. However, he did not get a chance to play any match that season as he was still learning and developing his skills.
His real breakthrough came in Season 9 when Gujarat Giants picked him up in the auction. Playing his first PKL season, Parteek immediately made an impact.
