PKL-12: Bengaluru Bulls Secure Third Spot After Crushing Gujarat Giants by 28 Points
Bengaluru Bulls confirmed their playoff spot by finishing third on the points table after a commanding victory over Gujarat Giants. In the 106th match of the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), played at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Thursday, the Bulls thrashed Gujarat Giants 54–26. With this heavy defeat, Gujarat’s campaign in PKL 12 came to an end.
This was the Bulls’ 11th win of the season, with every player contributing to the team’s success. In raiding, Alireza Mirzaein (10 points) led the charge, ably supported by Akash Shinde (11 points). On the defensive front, Sanjay scored a High-5, while Deepak Sankar added four points and captain Yogesh Dahiya contributed three. For Gujarat, only Himanshu Singh (5 points) and Sridhar Kadam (8 points) showed some resistance.

The Bulls made an explosive start, all-outing Gujarat within the first three minutes to take a commanding 10–1 lead. For Gujarat, only Himanshu was scoring initially, but soon even he was tackled out. Meanwhile, Akash and Alireza continued their scoring spree, helping Bulls extend their lead to 17–4 by the end of the first quarter. Gujarat managed a super tackle but failed to capitalize, and were all-out once again, trailing 5–22.
During the “all-in” phase, Bulls tackled Himanshu twice. Gujarat struggled to recover, and Ashish’s multi-point raid made matters worse. Facing yet another super tackle situation, Gujarat were all-out for the third time, giving Bulls a massive 34–7 lead. The half ended with Bulls comfortably ahead 36–7.
After halftime, Alireza’s multi-point raid pushed Bulls further ahead to 40–10. Soon after, Sanjay tackled Himanshu to complete his High-5, while Alireza’s consistent scoring saw him reach his Super-10 as the Bulls led 45–11.
Despite a slight fightback from Gujarat in the closing minutes, the gap remained unbridgeable. Akash Shinde also completed his Super-10, and although Sridhar’s three-point raid helped Gujarat inflict their first all-out on Bulls, reducing the score to 24–51, it was too late to change the outcome.
In the end, Bengaluru Bulls dominated throughout, sealing a 54–26 win and confirming their third-place finish in the PKL Season 12 points table, while Gujarat Giants bowed out of the competition.
