PKL-12: Dabang Delhi KC’s Stunning Comeback, Defeat Telugu Titans to Reach the Top of the Points Table

Ashu Malik (2 points) could not deliver, but the defenders (15 points) powered Dabang Delhi KC to a stunning comeback, securing their sixth consecutive win and climbing to the top of the points table. Delhi defeated Telugu Titans 33-29 in the 37th match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, played at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
For Delhi, Neeraj (9 points) and Akshit (3 points) registered super raids, while Fazel Atrachali and Saurabh Nandal completed High-5s. For the Titans, Vijay Malik (5 points) was the standout performer, with Ajit Pawar adding four defensive points. This was Titans’ fourth defeat in eight matches and their third consecutive loss.
The Titans started strong, as Vijay scored a bonus, and Shubham dismissed Neeraj to make it 2-0. Bharat then tackled Saurabh and later caught Ashu to push the scoreline to 4-0. Delhi finally opened their account through Surjeet on a do-or-die raid. Neeraj soon added another point on do-or-die, reducing the gap to two. Manjeet, however, dismissed Saurabh to extend Titans’ lead to 5-2.
Delhi kept fighting as Neeraj struck back, and Surjeet’s tackle on Bharat brought Ashu back on court. The Titans, however, dominated the first half, stretching the score to 12-7. Ashu was dismissed multiple times without scoring, while Manjeet’s late raid made it 14-9 at halftime.
After the break, Fazel revived Delhi with crucial tackles, but Shubham once again sent Ashu out for the fourth time. Neeraj’s super raid narrowed the gap to 14-15, but Vijay’s multi-point raid saved Titans from an all-out. The Titans even super-tackled Ashu to make it 19-14. Delhi, however, responded brilliantly – Neeraj’s raid reduced Titans to two men, and Saurabh dismissed Vijay, inflicting an all-out to give Delhi a 20-19 lead.
Ashu finally opened his account with a bonus and one more point to extend Delhi’s lead to four. But he was soon tackled again. Fazel then completed his High-5 by dismissing Manjeet, followed by Delhi’s defense trapping Vijay to make it 27-22. Bharat and Ajit fought back with super tackles to bring it to 24-27.
With three minutes left, Delhi held a narrow three-point lead. Saurabh dismissed Manjeet and Jay Bhagwan in successive raids to complete his High-5 and stretch the gap to five points. Though Titans cut the deficit to two in the final minute, Akshit’s super raid sealed the match for Delhi, confirming a 33-29 victory.
Dabang Delhi have been brilliant throughout the tournament have won 6 games in the row and credit should be given to their immaculate consistency on the mat.
