PKL 12: Patna Pirates Win Against UP Yoddhas, Ayan Shines in Third Victory

In PKL-12, Patna Pirates got their third win in 10 matches by beating UP Yoddhas. The game took place on Monday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Patna Pirates defeated UP Yoddhas 36-28 in the 68th match of Pro Kabaddi League season 12. This loss is the eighth for UP Yoddhas in 12 games during PKL-12.

Ayan played a big part in Patna Pirates’ win in PKL-12 with 15 points. In defense, Deepak added four points, and Navdeep got five. For UP Yoddhas, Gagan Gowda hit a Super-10, while Guman took four points in the PKL-12 match.

Patna Pirates started well in PKL-12 and took a 3-1 lead. Then, Ayan got a point on a Do-or-Die raid, making the gap three. Gagan, who took a bonus on his first raid, got four points on his second raid, giving UP Yoddhas a 5-4 lead. However, Ayan tied the score soon after for Patna Pirates in PKL-12.

The defense of Patna Pirates kept tackling Bhavani with combination tackles. But Gagan did another Super Raid, breaking through Patna Pirates’ defense and putting them in a Super Tackle spot in PKL-12. Deepak dashed Bhavani out, making the score 10-12. Ayan then got one point to avoid the Super Tackle, but Shivam brought Patna Pirates back to that spot. Yet, Ayan did a multi-point raid to tie the score again in the PKL-12 game.

Meanwhile, Bhavani got a point against four defenders, putting Patna Pirates in Super Tackle position once more. But Patna Pirates tackled Bhavani and took the lead. On the next raid, Ayan completed his Super-10 and pushed UP Yoddhas into Super Tackle spot in PKL-12.

After the break, Patna Pirates did an All-Out on UP Yoddhas, leading 21-16 in PKL-12. Right after, Gagan self-outed himself. Ayan then sent Mahender out, making the lead seven for Patna Pirates. Next, Patna Pirates’ defense tackled Bhavani too. However, UP Yoddhas’ defense got Ayan, but Patna Pirates tackled Gagan to even it out. By the end of 30 minutes, Patna Pirates had a 26-21 lead over UP Yoddhas in PKL-12.

After the break in the PKL-12 match, UP Yoddhas put Patna Pirates in Super Tackle position. Sumit tackled Ayan, starting a comeback for UP Yoddhas. But with a Super Tackle, Patna Pirates made the lead six. In between, Gagan lost a point due to a mistake against Ankit. Then, the defense sent Shivam out, helping Patna Pirates hold on in PKL-12.

Later, UP Yoddhas tried hard to come back and put Patna Pirates in Super Tackle spot again. But by then, it was too late in the PKL-12 game. This way, UP Yoddhas faced their eighth loss this season against Patna Pirates.
