PKL-12: U Mumba Defeats Telugu Titans by 7 Points, Secures Top-2 Spot for Dabang Delhi

In the 89th match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12, played at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Thursday, U Mumba defeated Telugu Titans 33-26. This win also secured a Top-2 spot in the league standings for Dabang Delhi KC.
U Mumba, showcasing their all-round skills, registered their 8th win in 15 matches. Key contributors included Ajit Chauhan (8 points), Parvesh Bhenswal (3), Sandeep (4), Zafardanes (3), Rinku (4), and Rohit Raghav (4). For the Telugu Titans, captain Vijay Malik scored a Super 10, but the team suffered their second consecutive defeat, marking their 7th loss in 15 matches.
The match started with Ajit scoring a bonus in the first raid, followed by a two-point raid in the second, putting U Mumba ahead 3-0. Bharat scored a bonus in his first raid but was caught in the second. Ajit added another point to extend the score to 6-2. Ankit tackled Sandeep, while Vijay caught Chetan to maintain a 4-point lead. Sandeep revived but was again caught in the five-man defense, after which Bharat scored two points to make it 6-7.
In a do-or-die raid, the Titans caught Rohit, bringing the first-quarter score to 7-8. After the break, U Mumba extended their lead to four points and forced a super tackle situation for the Titans. Vijay, however, tackled Rinku to save the situation. Avi caught Ajit, making the score 9-11, while Sunil tackled Bharat, and Rinku caught Prafull to make it 13-10.

Later, Ajit tackled Avi, creating another super tackle for the Titans, but Vijay used a multi-pointer to mitigate the threat, ending the half at 12-14. After halftime, U Mumba scored four points in a two-point raid situation, maintaining a four-point lead and again creating a super tackle opportunity for the Titans. Rohit caught Ankit, limiting the Titans to two players, and then U Mumba inflicted an all-out to extend the lead to 23-17.
With 10 minutes remaining, U Mumba led 25-17, but the Titans fought back to reduce the gap to six points. Bharat tackled Ajit, giving the Titans a brief advantage, but Parvesh responded immediately to regain control. Ultimately, U Mumba’s strong defense (14 tackles) helped them secure a 7-point victory over the Telugu Titans.
