PKL-12: U Mumba make a strong winning comeback, thrash Tamil Thalaivas by 18 points

In the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), after suffering three consecutive defeats, U Mumba made a thundering comeback. On Wednesday, in the 58th match of the season played at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, U Mumba defeated Tamil Thalaivas in a one-sided manner by 42-24.
For U Mumba, Sandeep Kumar scored 12 points, while Sunil added six and Lokesh picked up five points. For the Thalaivas, only Nitesh Kumar managed a High Five.
With their fifth win in 10 matches, U Mumba now has 10 points and has moved up to the sixth spot on the table. This was their first victory after three straight losses. Meanwhile, Tamil Thalaivas faced their sixth defeat in 10 matches.
To avoid a fourth consecutive loss this season, U Mumba made a strong comeback. However, the Thalaivas, motivated by a sense of revenge, also put up a tough fight. Both teams were tied at 5-5 until the 7th minute. After that, U Mumba executed two Super Tackles in the first 10 minutes, taking a two-point lead.

For U Mumba, Lokesh completed his High Five within the first 12 minutes. During this time, U Mumba also pulled off their third Super Tackle to extend the score to 13-9. Ajit Chauhan contributed his first Super Raid of the match, further strengthening Mumba’s lead.
In the first half, U Mumba earned 8 out of their 16 points in defense, which helped them lead 16-11 at halftime.
In the second half, the door was still open for the Thalaivas to make a comeback. But U Mumba held on to their lead with strong defense. In the 25th minute, Sandeep Kumar produced a Super Raid to push U Mumba ahead 20-12. The very next minute, he struck again with another Super Raid, forcing an All-Out on the Thalaivas.
This gave U Mumba a commanding 25-13 lead. Sandeep was roaring throughout the match. By the 30th minute, the home team Tamil Thalaivas trailed by 12 points, with U Mumba leading 28-16.
During this time, Sandeep completed his third consecutive Super-10 of the season for U Mumba. By the 35th minute, U Mumba was still ahead 23-20. Apart from Sandeep, captain Sunil also impressed in defense, completing his High Five.
In the final minutes, U Mumba once again inflicted an All-Out on Tamil Thalaivas and sealed the match convincingly with a 42-24 victory.
