Pranay Rane was born on 16 September 2002 in Kankavali, a town in Maharashtra. His father’s name is Suryakant Rane. He comes from a supportive family that encouraged his interest in sports from an early age. Additionally, he has a brother named Prajwal Rane who has also been part of his journey.

Growing up in Kankavali, Pranay Rane was introduced to kabaddi during his school years. He studied at S M High School in Kankavali. This tournament was held in Jalgaon and featured 16 men’s and women’s district teams from across Maharashtra. Additionally, the tournament also hosted key PKL players such as Arkam Sheikh, Rishank Devadiga, and Sanket Sawant.

Pranay Rane has represented Mumbai Shahar team in the 72nd Maharashtra Senior State Kabaddi Championship 2025. His performance in this tournament was outstanding, as he delivered some spectacular raids that showcased his skills as a left-side raider.
