31st Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship - Day 1 Summary

The 31st sub-junior national kabaddi championship was played at the Mini Stadium Dineshpur in Udham Singh Nagar. 12 matches were played across both boys and girls category between teams which represented states. Here is a brief summary of all the matches. 

Boys

All the 12 teams will be in action on Day 2

 

In the boys category, all the teams won with a margin of more than 10 points. The tournament started off with Uttarakhand's thumping win over Tripura of 65-9 as the northeastern state was no match to their counterparts. 

Haryana dominated Jharkhand 76-26 in the second match of the day as the one-sided results continued. Delhi won by 45-27 against Himachal Pradesh. Rajasthan and Goa played out the closest match of the day with 40-28 scoreline. 

Andhra Pradesh were victorious against Pondicherry 44-24. Bihar registered the biggest victory of the championship as they defeated Chandigarh by 84-24.

Girls

12 teams were in action on Day 1 in the girls category

The first match of the tournament was a one-sided affair as the Sports Authority of India team dominated Chandigarh 59-21. Delhi and Bihar were victorious in the next two matches against Goa and Telangana respectively. Delhi defeated Goa 41-18 while Bihar won by a margin of 20 points with the scoreline reading 55-35 against the southern state.

Tamil Nadu were victorious against Rajasthan 44-33 in match 4 and Uttarakhand won by 45-29 versus Chattisgarh. 

The final match of the day was the closest as Madhya Pradesh edged out Odisha by a margin of 45-40 and ended the day's proceedings.
