Africa Kabaddi Championship 2021 is underway in Tanzania

The Africa Kabaddi Championship (Men and Women) 2021 went underway in Tanzania, Africa on 1st July 2021. The tournament which was supposed to have 14 teams went ahead with just 3 teams due to the Covid-19 restriction in Africa. The Championship is played at the Ubungo Plaza, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. The tournament has 6 games scheduled in the league stages followed by the knockouts. The final of the Africa Kabaddi Championship is set to take place on 4th July 2021. 

The President of the Tanzania Kabaddi Mr. Abdullah said-

'' This Africa Kabaddi Championship 2021 is very important for the development of African Kabaddi. We wanted to have more than 12 teams participate but due to the current situation we had to go ahead with what we have. We would like to thank all the participants for turning up for this tournament.''

Africa Kabaddi Championship can be viewed live on Azam TV in Africa. The matches can be viewed live on the Azam TV youtube channel for others outside of Africa.

The Inaugural game of the African Kabaddi Championship saw home team Tanzania women take on Egypt women. Egypt won the game comfortably with scores of 91-52. The Men's Leg had a similar fixture to inaugurate- Tanzania vs Egypt. Egypt got the better of Tanzania in the barest of margins with scores of 50-47.


Day 2 of the tournament has 2 matches lined up one from the Men section and one from the Women section.
