The last day of the All India Kabaddi Tournament will see the men's and women's teams play their semifinal and the final matches at St. Antony's Sports Club Ground, Azhagappapuram, Kanyakumari. After an action-packed three days of Kabaddi, the final day will decide the winners for both men's and women's teams.
SSB Haryana was the first team in the men's category to reach the semis stage after defeating Mahindra and Mahindra 35-22 in the quarterfinals. They had earlier topped their group with one win against Durgambikai Thirunelveli in Pool B. In the semifinals, SSB Haryana will be up against Durai Singam Thoothukudi who went on to win their quarterfinal match 47-25 against Azhagai Rejo Printers.
In the second semis match of the men's category, Tamil Nadu Postal will face Durgambikai Thirunelveli. Tamil Nadu had registered a huge 52-32 win against the ITB Police Delhi team while Thirunelveli defeated SAV, Vadakkankulam 42-29 in their quarterfinal match.
In the women's quarterfinal matches, Northern Railway won 36-28 against the Kurukshetra University team to seal their place in the final four. They had remained unbeaten in the group stage matches after registering convincing victories against Palam Sports Delhi and Kabaddi Stars.
Northern Railway will be up against yet another strong team of the tournament, Sports Authority of India, Haryana. The SAI Haryana also won both their group matches against Shiksha Bharathi UP and Jayachitra Tiripur. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Central Railways Mumbai Division 48-22.
SMVKC became the third team to reach the semifinals after a 34-23 victory over Shiksha Bharathi UP. Palam Sports Delhi had a close quarterfinal match against SSB Haryana as the later gave them a tough competition. The Delhi based club went on to win 33-30, becoming the fourth and the final team to reach the semis.
The semifinal matches will be played on the 30th December 2019 at 7 PM, followed by the final matches.
