The match started with both the teams picking up raid points and building up the scoreboard. However, the defensive department of the Paltans seems all over the place as they gave away easy points to the UP raiders. In his second two-point raid of the match in the 11th minute, Shrikant Jadhav inflicted an all-out on the Paltans in a do-or-die raid to give the Yoddha's 12-6 lead. Shrikant's efforts were aptly supported by Surender Gill, who also picked up crucial points for his team.

On the other side of the mat, Manjeet was the only top performing player for the Paltan as he went on to get multiple successful raids in the first half of the match. Unfortunately, his efforts were not assisted by the top defenders Surjeet Singh and Girish Maruti Ernak. The duo ended the match with zero points, along with Hadi Tajik.

As Manjeet and Shrikant played their top game in the match, both the raiders also completed 50 points in the Pro Kabaddi 2019

The second half saw a similar story as UP Yoddha went on to increase the gap between the scores. Jadhav inflicted a second all out on Pune in the 30th minute, taking 11 point lead. Manjeet single-handedly tried to take Pune over the winning line as he reached his Super 10 with six minutes left in the game. However, his efforts of 16 raid points went in vain.

UP Yoddha's performance was backed by their star raider Shrikant Jadhav who went on to pick 15 raid points from 23 raids while Sumit picked up a High 5 in eight tackles attempted. This win has placed the Yoddhas on the seventh position in the Pro Kabaddi Points Table, while Pune still sits on the 11th. UP Yoddha will be playing Patna Pirates on 6th September in Bengaluru, while the Paltna will be up against Telugu Titans on 30th August in Delhi.
