With a revamped format and two additional teams, the second season of PKL is scheduled to get underway in November 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the sports industry this year, the organizers are hoping that things get settled down by November for the league to get underway. The organizers have also announced an increase in prize money this year to promote more and more players to join the league as well as attract local sponsors to the tournament.

Apart from Jaipur Jaguars, Bikana Riders, Singh Soorma, and defending champions Shekhawati Kings the teams that would be participating in the RKL Season 2 are Aravali Eagles, Bharatpur Bulls, Chambal Pirates, Jodhana Warriors, Sufi Tigers, and Mewar Monks.

RKL is aimed at promoting the young talent in Rajasthan and encouraging the youth to take up the sport. The popularity of the sport in the state has been increasing every year with the state team of Jaipur Pink Panthers performing well in Pro Kabaddi. The 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championships also took place in Jaipur in March 2020, giving a chance to the audience to come and see top players. Notably, Rajasthan's Deepak Niwas Hooda leads in the Indian Men's National Kabaddi team in international tournaments.
