Fazel Attrachali led U Mumba created an all round performance in the opening match of Pro Kabaddi 2019 to defeat the home team Telugu Titans 30-25. In the first match at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, the Titans were tamed by the visitors in both raiding and defending. Abhishek Singh scored a Super 10 from 16 raids for the Mumbai based team to lead the raiding department from the front. U Mumba were in the front foot in the defense too with the Fazel and Sandeep Narwal scoring four tackle points each.

Telugu Titans were on the defense from the first minute of the game. Star raider and the costliest player at the PKL 2019 Auction, Siddharth Desai more of an disappointment in the match as he failed to win a single point in the first 33 minutes of the game.
