Ashu Malik's Masterclass Propels Dabang Delhi Beat U Mumba

The Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad witnessed a thrilling encounter on January 20th, 2024, as Dabang Delhi edged past U Mumba by a narrow margin of 6 points. But this wasn't just a tale of two teams; it was the Ashu Malik show all night long!

From the very first raid, Ashu Malik stole the spotlight. He sent Sombir and Surinder Singh packing back to their bench with his brilliant raiding, securing his 14th raid point. He tormented Mumba's defenders throughout the match, outsmarting them with deceptive touches. His Super 10 was just the cherry on top of a phenomenal raiding performance.

But Ashu wasn't the only Dabang Delhi hero. The defense stepped up big time, especially in the second half. Vishal Bhardwaj was a rock, pulling off crucial tackles on Amirmohammad Zafardanesh and Pranay Rane.

U Mumba tried their best to fight back. Guman Singh had a couple of brilliant moments, escaping past defenders with his fiery dubkis and even orchestrating a Super Raid that sent four Dabang Delhi players to the lobby. Heidarali Ekrami also contributed his fair share, sending off Vikrant. But unfortunately for U Mumba, their efforts weren't enough to overcome the Ashu Malik juggernaut.

The match started neck-and-neck, with both teams exchanging points. Sombir got Ashu Malik in the initial raid, but Delhi quickly clawed back with Manu's toe touch on Bittu. The first half saw an All Out on each side, with U Mumba taking the lead at 16-13. However, the turning point came in the second half. Ashu Malik's relentless raiding coupled with Dabang Delhi's strong defense put immense pressure on U Mumba. They managed to tie the score at 20-20, but Ashu's constant raids kept them on the back foot. Finally, with just minutes remaining, Pranay Rane's unsuccessful raid resulted in Dabang Delhi's second All Out, sealing their victory.

This match was a true spectacle of Kabaddi, showcasing the brilliance of both offense and defense. While Ashu Malik undoubtedly walked away as the star performer, the contributions of his teammates and U Mumba's valiant fightback made this a night to remember for Kabaddi fans. Dabang Delhi will be looking to build on this momentum, while U Mumba will need to regroup and find a way to win in their next encounter.
