Pro Kabaddi League 2023: SWOT Analysis of Dabang Delhi K.C for PKL Season 10. How is RS Khokhar's team looking?

Season 8 Pro Kabaddi League Champions Dabang Delhi K.C will be under the leadership of Head coach Rambir Singh Khokhar and he will be assisted by former India Raider and PKL legend Ajay Thakur.

It is an interesting duo in terms of coaching as both of them have different philosophies about the game.

Rambir Singh is known for his willingness to make his defense strong and Ajay Thakur being a raider will obviously help the team improve offensively.

Don't forget, RS Khokhar has won numerous Medals as Head Coach of India and Delhi will count on his tactics to try to win their 2nd PKL title. And here we will drop down the SWOT analysis of Dabang Delhi K.C.

Strength

Dabang Delhi K.C stacked their team with a lot of defenders during the PKL 10 Auction. They retained only 1 defender in player retention - Vijay Malik, otherwise the team consisted of Core set of raiders - Naveen Kumar, Manjeet, Ashish Narwal and Suraj Panwar.

They added a left corner (Ashish) and right corner (Yogesh) in New Young Player signings along with raiders Himmat Antil and Manu. And during the Auction, Delhi signed 7 Defenders including 2 overseas buys - Yuvraj Pandeya and Felix Li of England.

In terms of Indian defenders, Vishal Bhardwaj is the biggest name that arrived at a bargain of 20 Lakhs. He will be the one to watch out for in PKL 10 as he has been a regular part of the Indian national side and following a disappointing season 9, Vishal will have a point to prove.

Nitin Chandel, Vikrant, Mohit, Akash Prasher and Balasaheb Jadhav are the other defenders in Delhi who will make their defense pretty strong.

Weakness

Dabang Delhi looked more determined to build a solid defense and bought only 2 raiders during the Auction. And they were Ashu Malik for 96.25 Lakhs through FBM and Meetu Sharma for 93 Lakhs. Both of the raiders enjoyed decent season scoring more than 100 raid points with Ashu scoring 141 and Meetu amassing 135 raid points.

They will start Delhi's matches with Naveen Kumar as the main raider but their backups are not upto the mark. Manjeet and Ashish Narwal failed to impress last season but were shockingly retained. The duo shared 73 raid points between them last year while another retained raider Suraj could not make his debut.

So RS Khokhar and Ajay Thakur will be banking on them to play well when given the chance. New Young Player raiders - Himmat Antil and Manu will also be making their debuts, leaving Delhi with inexperienced back up raiders.

Opportunity

Foreign signings Yuvraj Pandeya and Felix Li and new signings Meetu, Nitin Chandel, Akash Prasher will have an opportunity to make a name for themselves. Ashu Malik too will have an opportunity and a favor to repay after Delhi brought him back through FBM card.

Threat: Lack of good back up Raiders for Naveen Kumar, Meetu Sharma and Ashu Malik could be a big threat for Delhi in case of the trio's absence. They also have just 1 All-Rounder so they might also miss versatility in the mat.

Threat

Dabang Delhi have a lot of youth players who are yet to be featured at the highest level. They somehow lack back up raiders and that could be a problem.
