Bengaluru Bulls' investment in youngsters pays off | Pro Kabaddi 8 Auction

Bengaluru Bulls have managed to retain the most valuable player of Pro Kabaddi today, Pawan Sehrawat. And they have done it at a mere 86.5 Lakhs. The fair price for Pawan Sehrawat, in my opinion, is at least twice as much! Pawan is probably the only player who dons the hats of lead raider, able defense manager, and most important of all Captain. And the Captain leading from the front and being the most expensive price lends a balance that few Pro Kabaddi teams have.

Bengaluru Bulls have released Rohit Kumar and this has have given them the luxury of money to spend in the auction. Bulls have retained Banty, a strong support raider, who has impressed with his performances in the Junior Nationals for Chandigarh (62 raid points in 90 raids). Banty is likely to be in the Bulls starting 7 for PKL8. They have also retained their corners - left corner Amit Sheoran (50 points) and right corner Saurabh Nandal (57 points) and both of them have proved their mettle in PKL7.

All that is left for Bulls to do with 284 lakhs in hand is to get strong covers! Last time, often Mahender was waging a lone battle in defense. Will they get the cover combo of Mahender & Surjeet, both of whom represent Services? In all likelihood, Bulls will use one of their FBMs Mahender.

Coach Randhir has succinctly shared his vision with Kabaddi Adda - "I like to take young players from the low socio-economic statuses and groom them to scale the heights of highest levels of Kabaddi". And he seems to be a man of his word. He can bring out hidden stars, as displayed by all the retained players in this squad. So look forward to some fantastic NYPs playing for the Bulls this season.

A birdie told us, he has his left corner and backup raiding sorted with some top players from the K7 tournament series. All-in-all, Bulls need to be aware of buying players within their Captain's price and strengthen their covers while doing so.
