Ajay has been associated with Kabaddi for more than 15 years now. A star raider, he has also led the Indian team successfully at various international tournaments over the years. He was also the 'Raider of the Tournament' at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup Ahmedabad.

He is one of the top 5 raiders of the Pro Kabaddi to reach 500 points and was associated with the Tamil Thalaivas franchise in seasons 5 to 7. He has scored 811 points in the first seven seasons of the tournament, the fourth most by any player.

Not only that, but Ajay Thakur also has a fan following all over the country. A humble player of the game, Thakur has been an inspiration for many youngsters in the country to take up the sport.

Thakur is currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Himachal Pradesh Police Department. He is performing his duty at the police station in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The Padma Shri awardee has been actively participating in various activities to make people aware of the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected the thousands of people all over the country.
