Ghar Se Panga: Right corner Saurabh Nandal eager to get back on the mat

The coronavirus pandemic has brought life to a standstill across the world. Especially in the Kabaddi world, a sport defined by contact between people, things are taking a break from the usual tours. The athletes are bound by the rules of isolation, just like the rest of us, but Kabaddi Adda has been speaking to the athletes, staying at their homes or academies, on their changed routines, with competitions on hold and plenty of time on hand.

Saurabh Nandal came into limelight when he played the role of the commander-in-chief to Pawan Sehrawat during Bengaluru Bulls' PKL7 campaign and his debut season. He scored 57 points. Saurabh represents MD University in the University Nationals. We would like to thank Saurabh for doing this fun interview with us.
KA: What is your schedule like during this lockdown?
Saurabh Nandal: I work out twice a day- morning and evening without fail. Together with some friends, I do my workouts; we make sure social distancing is maintained. We do sprints, slow jogs, and focus on muscle strengthening exercises- I split my workouts in leg day, chest day, abs day, arm day, and full-body workout this helps me to stay fit and be ready for the upcoming season.
Right now, its wheat harvesting time so I help out my family by doing some farming and also help my mother at home in basic house chores.
KA: What do you do in free time during this lockdown?
Saurabh Nandal: I live in a joint family, we all sit together and play Ludo for most of the time. If we are not playing Ludo, we watch some TV shows like The Kapil Sharma show and Khatron Ke Khiladi. I also watch the Pro Kabaddi highlights being telecasted on Star Sports these days.
KA: What diet and nutrition are you following during this lockdown?
Saurabh Nandal: I'm being able to follow the basic desi diet at home. My diet includes- Dry fruits, Chapati, Daal, Soyabean, Curd/Lassi, and Sugarcane.
KA: How does it feel to be able to spend time with your family which is not the case usually?
Saurabh Nandal: It feels great and I'm trying to make use of this time to help my family in all ways possible. But all said I really miss Kabaddi and am eagerly waiting for things to settle down so that I can get back to action.
KA: Any message you would like to give your fans during this pandemic?
Saurabh Nandal: Stay safe at home, this lockdown has been announced for our safety so please obey the orders given by the government and practice social distancing. Help the doctors and the police in any way possible, keep distance if you are going out for any important work, and most importantly use masks to keep yourself and others safe.
