History of Sub-junior Boys National Kabaddi Championships
Sub-junior Boys National Kabaddi Championship has been dominated by boys from Sports Authority of India for the last four years.
This year however Maharashtra won the boy's title, with Haryana taking second place. Although Haryana led by a small margin of 3 points at half-time, Maharastra closed the gap. At the penultimate raid the scores were level at 36-36. Piyush Patil raided in this high pressure situation to bring home a point and get the gold for Maharashtra.
Haryana, Karnataka and Bihar were surprise podium finishers; given they have never finished this well in the last 5 years. SAI will be disappointed with their performance this year in the boy's title.
But the girls from SAI restored faith in their Kabaddi teaching system by winning the title for a second consecutive year. Delhi took the second place, with Bihar and Tamil Nadu sharing the 3rd place.
