31st Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship - Day 2

 

After Game Day 1, all eyes were fixated on some thrilling matches scheduled for the 2nd game day. Neutrals were looking out for some equally contested games, unlike yesterday that went sideways.  

 

BOYS

Boys

The day started with Maharashtra Thrashing Tripura by 46 points to 9. Almost every team won their first game with a margin of at least 10 points. Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana won their matches with relative ease. They won their 2nd game of the day as well, without any real sweat.   

The Match between Vidharbha and Himachal Pradesh was a real thriller. The game of the day went right down to the wire, Himachal winning by a single point. The next closest was Telangana and Bihar. Bihar gave them a tough fight but ran out of gas in the end. (Bihar38 VS 42 Telangana)

Tamil Nadu won by the biggest margin of the lot. They humiliated Pondichhery by a scoreline of 72 -13. 


Girls

Girls

The girl's category also started similarly with Uttar Pradesh Thrashing Pondicherry 54 - 19. In a one-sided affair. Vidharbha, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Manipur, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh had a dominating win over other teams. 

Jharkhand became the lowest-scoring team of the day. Managing just 2 points against the team from SAI.

The metropolitan derby Delhi (47) VS (40) Maharashtra and the southern derby Pondicherry (34) VS (37) Kerala were the games that went right to their billing. 

The best game of the Girls category was the between Maharashtra 30 VS 31 Goa. Maharashtra had two close encounters on the day, winning one and losing one each.

With day 2, done and dusted. Day 3 waits for some of the teams in the bottom to get eliminated.
