31st Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship - Day 3 Summary

 

Day 3 -meant the business end of the league stage. And pre-quarterfinals draw to be decided, as to who plays who in the games ahead.

The remaining 8 fixtures needed to take place. The first game saw Delhi thrashing Viharbha by 30 points to progress ahead. (Delhi 60 - 30 Vidharbha)

A few more one-sided games took place in the following games. West Bengal was humbled by (12 - 32) Punjab. Uttarakhand and Manipur followed the script. And hammered Gujarat and Jammu & Kashmir by big margins.

A few closely contested battles took place that went right to the wire - Rajasthan (38 - 36) Uttar Pradesh Played a fight to the deathmatch with Rajasthan emerging.

Madhya Pradesh and Odisha gave a tough fight to Chhatisgarh and Gujarat but both lost by a close margin of 4 points. 

Pre-quarter finals took place and more hammering was set to follow. Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, Bihar, and Haryana went through to the next round in some convincing fashion. 

Battle of the south was a thriller. Telangana gave (42 - 47) Andhra Pradesh a run for their money, bat, at last, ran out of gas and ended up bowing out of the tournament. 


GIRLS

In the girls' category, there were only 6 league matches that took place. In the first game, Haryana continued their flying form and hammered 52 points past sorry Odisha.

Uttarakhand beat (36 - 25) West Bengal in the battles of who last longer. 

Vidharbha finally had a good game against (45 - 20) Pondicherry winning convincingly. 

Tripura become the lowest-scoring team of the day as they managed just 3 points past Andhra Pradesh 

The last two games of the day saw the experienced state Punjab and Uttar Pradesh roll Past Manipur and Kerala. who just couldn't react to what went past by them.
