Top 5 Indian Players To watch out in Asian Kabaddi Championship against Iran

The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 is running in full flow as the 11th edition at Busan, South Korea. We have reached the half-way mark of the 3-day tournament and 2 days have been completed. 

Each of the 6 participating teams have played 3 matches each and reigning champions India are leading the points table with 6 points including 3 wins and 0 losses. Iran are at number 2 and they are also matching India's performance and they are also undefeated after 3 matches. 

Iran are behind India only because of a poor point difference of +108 while the Indian contingent are with +142. Both of the teams will square off against each other tomorrow in what is expected to be the most anticipated match of Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023. 

Until now India have faced weaker sides like Korea, Chinise Taipei and Japan. The Men in Blue won these 3 matches by scorelines of 76-13, 53-20 and 62-17 respectively. However, tomorrow India will face stiff competition from Iran.

2. Sachin Tanwar - Raider

Sachin Tanwar has mainly acted as Pawan Sehrawat's deputy in the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023. The 23-year-old has proved to be a super sub for India as he has scored consistently whenever he has been brought on the mat by head coach Ashan Kumar. After collecting 6 points against Korea, Sachin Tanwar scored 12 and 9 raid points against Taipei and Japan which takes his tally to 27 Raid points. 

3. Aslam Inamdar - Raider

With Naveen Kumar's participation in Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 on the line, a lot will be dependent upon Aslam Inamdar. He has been a vital part for the Indian team, scoring 27 raid points. He completed a Super 10 in the first match, collecting 11 points and took 4 and 12 raid points in the following 2 matches. 

4. Surjeet Singh - Defender

Veteran Surjeet Singh has been rock solid in the Indian defense. His ankle holds and lobby bashes has seen him amass 8 tackle points until now. 

5. Vishal Bhardwaj - Defender 

24-year-old defender Vishal Bhardwaj has played a key role alongside Surjeet Singh and Parvesh Bhainswal. The youngster has the most tackle points in the team with 11 tackle points in total. In the 1st match he took 9 tackle points and after taking no tackle points in the 2nd match, Bhardwaj took 2 tackle points earlier today against Japan.
