How Haryana Steelers lost the last hope to playoffs

On the last day of Dabang Delhi home-leg, UP Yoddha defeat Haryana Steelers

Rishank Devadiga, Prashanth Kumar Rai were back on the mat and UP Yoddha registered their much needed win against Steelers. Monu started the raid with a bonus point, while Prashant Rai went back empty hand. UP Yoddha could score their first point in the 3rd minute when Naveen scored a point in a do-or-die situation. In this low scoring battle Haryana Steelers took the early control and Vikas Kandola's 3 point super in the 12th minute helped them to increase the score gap to 6 points.

First half belonged to the raiders and Monu Goyat and Vikas Kandola continue to damage UP Yoddha and together they scored 11 points in the first half, while Shrikant with his 4 points was the highest scorer in the first half from UP Yoddha side. At the stroke of half time Haryana Steelers were leading by 3 points with 15-12 score on board.

UP Yoddha started the 2nd half with a bang, inflicted the 1st all-out in the 22nd minute and took slender 1 point lead for the first time. It remained a close game till the 36th minute with lead switching sides. Last couple of minutes UP Yoddha defense looked organized and in the 37th minute Monu Goyat was on raid and he was sent on the bench by brilliant UP Yoddha defense.

Monu Goyat ouster turned out to be the turning point of the game which led to UP Yoddha's one point lead in the 38th minute. In the absence of Monu Goyat in the crucial minutes, Vikas Kandola and Naveen failed to deliver and UP Yoddha registered a win.
