37th National Games Men's Kabaddi 2023: Haryana and Services to meet in the Final
Indian Kabaddi's 2 of the strongest teams, Haryana and Services are all set to meet each other in the final of the 37th National Games 2023 here at Goa. Both of the finalists were in the Group of death (B) which also consisted of the defending champions Uttar Pradesh and hosts Goa.
Both of the teams were easily the tournament's best teams but their meeting in the final was something very few would have expected. Rahul Chaudhari's Uttar Pradesh were slated to be the semi-finalists but they failed to even get past the group stages.
Haryana and Services Men will join Himachal Pradesh and Haryana Women in the finals tomorrow. And before the Finale unfolds tomorrow, let's find out what happened in the Semi-finale today.
Semi-Final 1: Maharashtra Vs Haryana
This match had no shortage of big names from both teams. Haryana had the likes of Pardeep Narwal, Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Goyat among others while Maharashtra had players like Aslam Inamdar, Akash Shinde and Aditya Shinde among others.
All of them have featured in the Pro Kabaddi League and are some of most prominent names in Indian Kabaddi. Coming to the semi-finale, then it was a match that went down the wire.
Maharashtra looked in total control until the first half but as soon as the 2nd half began, Haryana changed the game. Pardeep Narwal and Rajesh Narwal led from the front and bamboozled Maharashtra's defense which did not support its Raiders.
The final scoreline remained in favor of Haryana by 39-30.
Semi-Final 2: Services Vs Chandigarh
The 2nd semi-final saw Services beat Chandigarh by a margin of 24 points. On paper, Services of course had a stronger side with players like Naveen Kumar, Arjun Deshwal and Ankush Rathee among others, all of whom who shined in Pro Kabaddi League season 9.
The Services team was all over Chandigarh as Sonu Jaglan and Naveen Kumar ran the show with their exquisite raiding. The eventual score line was 49-25.
So, tomorrow, we will be finding out the winners of both Men's and Women's Kabaddi winners of the 37th National Games Goa.
