Haryana Steelers look to maintain momentum - Press release
Haryana Steelers will look to continue their winning streak against Telugu Titans in the Pro Kabaddi League season seven on Sunday, 18 August 2019 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The Steelers have won their last three matches and are on 21 points as the race for the play-offs heats up.
Steelers raider Vikash Kandola is in the form of his life, scoring three consecutive Super 10s. The 21-year-old has been a livewire on the mat dismantling opponents at ease. The Jind-born player has proved his worth both offensively and defensively.
Under the leadership of Dharmaraj Cheralathan the defensive unit have been stable not giving away any easy points. Defender Vikas Kale has also been instrumental in Haryana’s success.
“We lost three matches continuously but after that we planned well and got the success we wanted. Some players are young so they are very fast, we had to control their pace. I’m sure we will try very hard to reach the final. I’m happy with the performance and fighting spirit of the team,” said the captain of Steelers.
Their opponents Telugu Titans have had a difficult season so far. The team have only won one of their eight matches. The Steelers though need to have their guards up and make sure they take home all five points on Sunday.
“The first five matches the Titans did not play well but in the last two or three matches they have played well. We have to be careful while playing against them but we are running high on confidence so we hope to win this match,” added Dharmaraj.
