Baldev & Prapanjan shine as Bengal Warriors edge out U Mumba in last raid thriller to continue winning run

Bengal Warriors won the match with the score of 32-30, it was a jaw-dropping encounter between high scoring Bengal Warriors and U Mumba. The start of U Mumba was solid as they opened their account with a great tackle sending Maninder Singh off to the bench to get first point 1-0. As Prapanjan got his team Bengal off the mark, Mumbai piled on the pressure by sharing a point and got the better of star raider of Bengal Maninder Singh again to further lead 4-2. Tackles after tackles, U Mumba were a well-knit defensive unit which consisted of captain Fazel Atrachali, Rohit Baliyan and Sandeep Narwal who kept Mumbai ahead in the 1st ten minutes itself by a score of 9-4.

Bengal Warriors tried to put up a fighting comeback as Rakesh Narwal, the sole survivor tried to execute a raid but Mumbai's Fazel Atrachali tackled him and inflicted first All-Out on Warriors by taking a lead of 7 points i.e (12-5).In the 14th minute of the match, Bengal gained momentum as Mohammad Nabibakhsh got one point with a touch on Surinder Singh and Bengal executed two well-timed tackles on Mumbai taking the score to 8-13. But U Mumba received two extra points as Nabibakhsh stepped on lobby without any touch and also by the execution of raid on Bengal to lead 15-8. End of First half saw Bengal getting into Double figures after a perfectly-timed tackle and Maninder also got a Bonus point but a brilliant start by U Mumba kept the Warriors at distance by keeping score 16-11 with Mumbai's Arjun Deshwal finishing as the Top performer with 5 points.

Second Half of the game witnessed a turning point as K.Prapanjan scored a "SUPER RAID" to reduce the deficit to just two points(14-16) and also targeted the strongest defender Fazel Atrachali to send him off the mat for Bengal Warriors. A depleted U Mumba was quickly cleaned up as the Bengal Warriors sneaked into a lead of 19-17 by inflicting an All-Out with their mighty defensive skills. But Deshwal pulled the Mumbai side back in Front with 3 straight successful raids and then helped U Mumba inflict a Second All-out on Warriors with a two-point raid. It was a great moment for Arjun Deshwal as he achieved a' SUPER 10 'and was also the only player who wasn't tackled by Bengal.

With 12 minutes left on clock, U Mumba led 26-20 but Bengal Warriors slowly ate into the lead as Baldev Singh brought up his "High 5" along with teammate Nabibakhsh, who tied the score at 27-27 dismissing compatriot Atrachali before sending the other defensive danger man Surinder Singh back into bench in next raid to give his side a slender advantage. Bengal Warriors then gained a grip on the game by inflicting an ALL-OUT on U Mumba to lead 31-28 before slowing the game down in dying minutes.

Bengal Warriors and U Mumba will face each other in Match 32 of PKL7 today at 7.30pm in the Patliputra indoor stadium in Patna. This will be the First face off in the tournament between U Mumba and Bengal Warriors. Both teams have won half their fixtures and will be keen on adding another victory to their name. With Sandeep Narwal moving out of his position to create aggressive tackles and Maninder being in top form, this would be a mouth-watering clash to watch out for!!
