Mohammadreza Shadlou

The young Iranian sensation, Mohammadreza Shadlou, has taken the Kabaddi world by storm. Stepping onto the PKL mat for the first time in season 8, he stunned everyone with his agility, speed, and raw defensive strength. Playing for the Patna Pirates, Shadlou not only impressed with his 89 tackle points but also secured the coveted Orange Band, marking a strong arrival.


Shadlou's brilliance continued into season 10, where he joined the Puneri Paltan. His exceptional defensive skills played a pivotal role in securing the team's first-ever PKL title. As proof of his consistent performance, Shadlou again topped the tackle points chart with 99 tackle points and bagged the "Best Defender" award, clinching his second Orange Band.

Manjeet Chhillar

Manjeet Chhillar, a household name in Kabaddi, holds the distinction of being one of the best defenders ever to grace the Pro Kabaddi League. He boasts an impressive international career, contributing significantly to India's gold medals at the 2014 Asian Games and Asian Indoor Games.


Chhillar's journey with the PKL began right from the inaugural season, where he donned the captain's armband for the Bengaluru Bulls. Not only did he lead the team, but he also dominated the individual charts, amassing the most tackle points (122) and clinching the "Defender of the Season" award. This remarkable feat was repeated two years later, making Chhillar the first player to win the coveted Orange Band twice, in seasons 1 and 3. In season 3 of Pro Kabaddi League, he amassed 106 tackle points.

Fazel Atrachali

Fazel Atrachali, the Iranian veteran, has become synonymous with the Pro Kabaddi League. He holds the number 1 spot in the list of all-time tackle points scorers with 486 points. Atrachali's defensive masterclass first came to the fore in season 4, where he earned the title "Best Defender of the Season" with 52 tackle points.


Atrachali's journey with the Orange Band continued in season 7, where he donned the colours of U Mumba. His exceptional performance, accumulating a staggering 82 tackle points, not only earned him his second Orange Band but also propelled U Mumba to the semi-finals.
