The Asian Kabaddi Federation issued a circular announcing the Technical Delegate. Kabaddi for the 19th Asian Games 2022. Mr. Kuldeep Gupta was the nominated candidate for the post. Mr. Gupta is the CEO of the Jammu and Kashmir Kabaddi association. The circular was signed by the Secretary-General of the Asian Kabaddi Federation Mr. Muhammad Sarwar Rana. The circular also mentioned the expense of the trip will be bared by the host nation of the Asian Games- China. 

The 19th Asian Games is set to happen in Hangzhou, China from 10th September to 25th September 2022. Kabaddi has been part of the Asian Games since the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing, China. 

Indian Kabaddi team has been the successful team in the Asain Games history. They have won 9 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal in both men and women category. Indian Men's Kabaddi team missed the gold in the last edition where India lost to Iran and bowed out of the tournament in the Semi-Final of the Asain Games. Indian Women's Kabaddi team lost the final to Iran and settled for the Silver medal. 

India- Men and Women will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Asian Games, as the loss to Iran must have hurt them given the dominance that they have had over the years. Iran and Korea will look to build on their confidence from the last edition.
