Nitin Panwar and Umaid Hawks soar to the top of Pool B | Day 3 Results | K7 Kabaddi Qualifiers Rajasthan

We are back with day 3 of the ongoing K7 Kabaddi Rajasthan qualifiers, with Bajrang Rockers from POOL through to the next round after some close fight from Shri Shyam Fighters. The focus now was shifted towards POOL B, where teams will fight head-on to go through to the next round.   

Hadoti Challengers and Umaid Hawks were looking to get on with the momentum with their wins from yesterday. With Mewar Kings & Shekhawati Yoddhas had all to play for, till the end of the day.

Match 9 - Umaid Hawks vs Mewar Kings

UH was full of confidence after their dominating win yesterday. MK on, the other hand was not so lucky they lost a close encounter and were looking to shrug off the disappointment with nothing less than a win. Nitin Panwar was the man to watch out for, with 26 raid points in his first match would be their main man out there on the mat. Captain Kapil Gujar would lead the defensive line for them UH. Rahul would look after the raids for his team and Akshat Rawat would hope to lead the defensive line for the MK and contain the opposite raider to help Rahul score as many raid points as possible. 

Both teams started in a flash with each raider scoring bonus points in their first raids. UH Sumit Choudhary was a little too eager as his pursuit attempt backfired and created a lead for MK to hold on to now. Rahul and Nitin were going back and forth against each other to score points on the table for their team, but it was Vipinder Singh who scored the first super raid to keep his team ahead by 4 points.

UH took the first time out to regroup but, Lokesh inflicted the first all-out to UH with the help of Rahul, and MK extended their lead by 7 points. Nitin was back in the court and straight away scored a super raid to force an all-out on his own. And right at the closing stages of the first-half Nitin successfully executed the first all-out for his team and the half ended with UH completing their comeback and leading by 2 points now.

2nd half was a much cagier affair, with both sets of players not letting the other team build a lead. But Vipendra Singh took out 4 Umaid Hawks players despite being pinned to the ground and MK now leads by 2 points. UH conceded yet another all-out, which tilted the match and momentum towards MK. But the game ended with a photo finish with MK being all-out right during the last 30 secs of the game to win by 2 points.


 

 

Match 10 - Shekhawati Yoddhas vs Hadoti Challengers

 

After their dominating win yesterday, all eyes were on Hadoti Challengers as they were the favorites to move into the next round for the K7 Kabaddi World Series. Hadoti challengers would have to win this game to keep their slim chances to step into the next round alive. Roshan Sharma was the captain for SKHY whereas, Rashid Ali led the team HDC. Kuldeep Singh Gour was the player to watch out for SKHY and, Rajeev Singh (Raider) and Narender (Defender) were the players to watch out for the HDC.

HDC started with a bonus point but, a defensive error by the HDC players saw Pradeep score the first super raid of the game to put HDC on a back foot from the beginning. But Vishal Chaudhary got the better of Ashok R and muscled his way past to bring the score to a tie. The match had to be stopped midway in the first half due to an injury to the HDC player. The break was a blessing in disguise as SKHY soon inflicted the game's first all-out and created a lead of 7 points. With Pradeep leading them from the front over the favorites HDC. But HDC Vishal cut this lead down to just one point before the end of the first half.

 

2nd half also started calmly. Both teams were on the back foot and waited for other one to make an error first. Slowly and steadily HDC showed why they are the favorites, as they came back from behind to lead the game by 6 points with, Pradeep and the defensive unit working in tandem to shut down the SKHY players.

 

SKHY players were struggling to cut down the lead and, their coach took a strategic timeout with 4 mins left. SKHY came out a bit more aggressive but, it backfired with SKHY down to just two players on the mat. HDC played the remaining clock out and won the game by 5 points in the end. 


 

Match 11 - Shekhawati Yoddhas vs Mewar Kings 

 

The two winless teams in POOL B will take on each other. With qualification out of hands, it was just their pride to play for as they battled to avoid the last spot. MK would look to finally win as it has been their own mistakes in both the close games. SKHY will look to close out their disappointing tournament so far. Anything better than the last two outings will do. Lokesh and Rahul were the players to watch out for MK. On the other side, Pradeep Kumar was the player to watch out for the SKHY.

Pradhan Gurjar came out for the first raid of the game but came back empty-handed. Rahul Started with a multi-point raid for the Mewar. It was turning out to be low scoring first half, with both teams who have failed to contain their opponents so far were not taking any risks, and MK led by 3 points at the mid-way of the first half. Soon, MK took the initiative to be the aggressor of the two sides. They inflicted the first all-out of the game and created a healthy lead of 11 points.

 

The SKHY had their work cut out in the 2nd half as another loss loomed upon their heads. SKHY huffed and puffed to force an all-out and, they finally did. With 15 mins left on the clock, the lead was cut down to just 5 points. But this was a little too late MK got back in their groove after the early wake-up call and finished the match with comfortable 18 point win.


 

Match 12 - Umaid Hawks vs Hadoti Challengers

 

The final game of the day saw the table-toppers go head to head, with the winner taking it all and getting qualified to the next round.

Both teams have been dominant so far with, two wins each. It was now all down to who wanted it more than the other now. UH will Look for Nitin to be on top of his game with, Kapil leading the defensive unit. Moti Ram Siyak and Rajeev were the two all-rounders spearheading the attack and defense for HDC.

The game had a lively start. Rajeev (HDC) and Nitin (UH) both, starting aggressively and scored points right from the start. UH was on high alert as they took down Vishal and Rajeev to give the momentum to their team with a 4 point lead created. 

But a super tackle from HDC's defense on Nitin as he tried to leap over Rashid Ali, Mohar Singh, who latches onto the raider's foot to win two points for their team. The first half was like a cat and mouse chase as both teams went back and forth. UH forced the first all-out of the game with the help of some good raids by Nitin. and the first half ended with HDC trailing the game by 5 points. 

 

HDC had all to play for in the 2nd half, with the top spot going away from their hands. They were hoping to have a quick start but, the defense of UH exploited their eagerness to score from the start.

The defense led by Kapil Gujar Shut down attack after attack while, Nitin caused havoc in the HDC defense. Scoring multi-point raids one after another and was unstoppable with 11 touch points and 4 bonus points to his name. UH sealed the top spot for his team as POOL B winners with an easy 16 point win in the final game. They are through to the K7 Kabaddi World Series.
