Pro Kabaddi 2019: Panthers edge past Warriors in a thriller

The inaugural Champions of the PKL, the Jaipur Pink Panthers stole victory from the impressive Bengal Warriors in match number 13 of the Pro Kabaddi League 2019 on the opening day of Mumbai leg. The Panthers won the match 27-25 in a last minute thriller courtesy an error from debutant Mohd. Taghi and a resilient Pink Panthers team.

The raider-defender duo of Deepak Niwas Hooda and Sandeep Dhull took the Panthers over the winning line in the last minute of the game. While Hooda managed to get six raid points, Dhull got a High5 to his name with eight tackle points to control the game for the Panthers. The tightly fought match started with the Warriors taking a lead in the first half and dominating the Panthers for most of the encounter. The second half saw a completely different Jaipur Pink Panthers, who stayed within touching distance and then fought back their way back from the brink and clinched the win in the last raid following a timely ankle hold on the baulk line from Sandeep Dhull on Baldev.

Dhull reached a milestone along the way, reaching his 50th tackle point of Pro Kabaddi, while Bengal Warriors' captain Maninder Singh got his 450th raid touch point of his PKL career. Deepak Niwas Hooda also reached 800 total points in Pro Kabaddi and capped it off with a win

The second half saw a completely different Jaipur Pink Panthers, who fought back their way into the game and clinched the win in the last raid. The Panthers now have two wins from two matches while Bengal Warriors have one win and one loss.

 

5 Reasons why Jaipur Pink Panther won against Bengal Warriors

 

1. Sandeep Dhull was in great form getting 8 points ans Amit Hooda managed to get 2.

2. Although Baldev managed to 6 points Rinku got only 2 points.

3. DNH scoring another High 5, Deepak Narwal helped by scoring 4 points

4. Poor performances by covers of Bengal Warriors, Jeeva and Naveen both scored 0.

5. The drama at the end, technical error by Taghi, Taghi getting out and then the All Out boosted 6 points for JP.

Match Preview: Jaipur face diligent Bengal in the second match

Bengal Warriors will play against the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Match 13 of Pro Kabaddi 2019. Warriors have an upper hand against the Panthers, having won eight games against five for the Panthers. Both the teams have won their first match with a huge difference and will be looking to take the same energy forward.
