The power-packed, balanced Bengal Warriors put in another prolific performance in this edition of the Pro Kabaddi League to power past a listless Puneri Paltan squad who slumped to their third straight loss of the season. Favourites Bengal Warriors were lifted by an all-round effort by captain Maninder and Co. against a shattered looking opposition to win by 20 points in the end.

The first half of the match was one-way traffic, in which the Warriors were dominant at almost every important moment. The Bengal skipper Maninder Singh stepped on the mat and devastated the defense of the Pune side pretty early on and there was no looking back. His power, together with extraordinary raiding speed gave him 7 raid points out of his first 10 raids in a truly one-sided half. Mohammad Nabibakash then entered the party and helped the Warriors enforce the first all out as early as the 9th minute.

The continued absence of star raider, Nitin Tomar for Pune made the Warriors’ win more inevitable. Pune did however manage to sneak in a super tackle in the first half by the support of the corners but there wasn’t much else to smile about as the raiders from Bengal were just too good for the shaky Paltan defence.

The conditions for the Paltans started worsening even more in the second half as the lethal duo of Maninder Singh and Mohammad Nabibaksh started showcasing their natural raiding skills! The Bengal side soon managed to enforce two all outs and added massive points to their tally. Getting the support from the raiders, the defenders of the Warriors, namely Rinku Narwal and Viraj Vishnu Langde, managed to score 3 tackle points each to give the side the all-round consistency it has needed. It was another poor showing for the Puneri defence with Captain, Surjeet picking up no tackle points at all while Girish Ernak picked up 3 tackle points.

An easy win for Bengal make them gain momentum in this highly competitive league.

Eventually, the B.C.Ramesh coached side got past the Puneri side by a huge margin of 43-23; an easy win for Bengal that takes them to 2nd spot on the points table with the most significant score difference in the league, given the margin of their big wins.
