The first half began with a close neck-and-neck battle. Aslam Inamdar, Puneri Paltan's captain and raider, opened the scoring with a bonus point in the first raid. Both teams traded points, with Patna briefly taking the lead at 7-5 thanks to a raid point by Sudhakar.
However, the tide started to turn around the 10-minute mark. Puneri Paltan's defence tightened, with Mohammadreza Shadlou playing a crucial role. Shortly after, Shadlou secured another crucial tackle point on Sandeep Kumar, triggering Patna's first All-Out with Puneri leading 13-9.
After the break, Puneri Paltan continued their dominance. Pankaj Mohite and Aslam executed successful raids, while Chiyaneh continued to shine in defense. He completed a "High 5" by securing an ankle hold on Sandeep, further extending Puneri's lead to 24-13.
Patna struggled to gain momentum, facing another All-Out with 8 minutes remaining in the match. Abinesh Nadarajan pushed Sandeep out of the mat, leaving Patna with only two players on the court.
