The curtains have closed on a thrilling Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 10, witnessing the crowning of a new champion - Puneri Paltan. On March 1st, 2024, at the GMC Balayogi Sports Complex in Hyderabad, Puneri Paltan defeated the Haryana Steelers in a nail-biting final with a score of 28-25. While the victors stole the spotlight, the league also saw some phenomenal defensive performances, particularly from the right-cover defenders.

Puneri Paltan's triumph marks a significant milestone in Pro Kabaddi history. This is their first-ever title win, etching their name in the league's record books. The team displayed remarkable resilience throughout the season, culminating in their well-deserved victory in the finals.

Haryana Steelers, though strong contenders, fell short of clinching the championship trophy. Despite a valiant effort, they couldn't overcome Puneri Paltan's strategic gameplay and determined raiders.

Top Right Cover Defenders in PKL 10

Abinesh Nadarajan

Surjeet Singh of Bengaluru Bulls displayed exceptional defensive skills throughout the league. The veteran defender was a key player in the team's defensive combination. He scored 56 tackle points and 5 'High 5s'.

Sunil Kumar

Sunil Kumar, the captain of Jaipur Pink Panthers was a vital cog in the team. He was confident in his team's capability, which eventually took them to the semi-final stage of the PKL 10. He scored a total of 55 tackle points and 4 'High 5s'.

 

Vaibhav Garje

Vaibhav Garje, the young and talented defender of the Bengal Warriors scored 52 tackle points. With the help of his speed and power, he successfully executed 3 'High 5s' this season.
