The much-anticipated Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 is underway, and fans are gearing up for a thrilling clash between three-time champions Patna Pirates and Telugu Titans at The Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad. After missing out on the playoffs last season, the Patna-based franchise has undergone significant changes, releasing some key players and shuffling their roster at the Pro Kabaddi League 2023 Auction.

Investing a whopping ₹4.391 crore to build a formidable squad, the Patna Pirates made strategic retentions and impactful additions to strengthen their lineup. The retention of talents like Neeraj Kumar and Sachin Tanwar, coupled with the game-changing acquisition of Manjeet Dahiya, sets the stage for an intense showdown against Telugu Titans.

1. Center - Manjeet Dahiya

The spotlight is on Manjeet Dahiya, the marquee signing for the Pirates at the PKL 2023 Auction. Commanding a staggering ₹92 lakh contract, Dahiya is back for his second stint with the three-time champions. Having debuted in 2018, he has evolved into a pivotal force, earning 102 points in 22 matches. Fans eagerly anticipate a season of even greater impact from this seasoned raider.

2. Left Cover - Sajin Chandrasekar

Returning to the Pirates at the Pro Kabaddi 2023 Auction, left cover defender Sajin Chandrasekar aims to bolster the defensive lineup. With 10 points in 12 matches last season, Chandrasekar's tackle strike rate of 22% will be under scrutiny. Patna's faithful hope for an improved performance, adding defensive strength crucial for success in PKL 10.

3. Right Cover - Neeraj Kumar

Despite a below-par performance as captain last season, Neeraj Kumar retains the right-cover position. With 30 points in 21 matches, Kumar faces a crucial opportunity to redeem himself. His raid success rate at 8% and tackle strike rate at 33% indicate a potential for improvement, and Patna Pirates are banking on him to deliver.

4. Left In - Sachin Tanwar

A consistent performer since joining in 2021, Sachin Tanwar boasts an impressive track record. Scoring 181 and 179 points in seasons eight and nine, respectively, Tanwar aims to elevate his raid success rate above 50%. The Pirates' management looks to him for crucial points, expecting a stellar performance in PKL 10.

5. Right In - Rakesh Narwal

Transferring from Haryana Steelers, Rakesh Narwal assumes the role of supporting raider for Patna Pirates. With 50 points in 15 matches last season, Narwal's mission is to complement main raiders Manjeet Dahiya and Sachin Tanwar. His ability to revive raiders quickly after tackles will be instrumental in the team's success.

6. Right Corner - Krishan Dhull

Having made his mark with Dabang Delhi KC, Krishan Dhull is set to anchor the right corner for Patna Pirates after being signed for ₹17.20 lakh. With over 60 points in seasons eight and nine, Dhull brings experience and defensive prowess to the Pirates' lineup, aiming to be a stalwart in PKL 10.

7. Left Corner - Ankit Jaglan

In a surprising move, Patna Pirates invested ₹31.5 lakh in Category D all-rounder Ankit Jaglan for the left corner position. Tasked with filling the void left by Mohammadreza Shadlou, Jaglan joins forces with Krishan Dhull to form the team's primary corner combination. The Pirates rely on this duo to maintain defensive solidity and secure crucial points.

As the Patna Pirates prepare to take on Telugu Titans in PKL 10, the chosen playing seven reflects a blend of experience and new talent. With Manjeet Dahiya leading the charge, supported by stalwarts like Neeraj Kumar and Sachin Tanwar, the Pirates aim to kick off the season on a winning note.
