Nitin Panwar replaces Ajay Thakur at Dabang Delhi

 

Experienced raider Ajay Thakur has been replaced by Nitin Panwar for the remainder of  Pro Kabaddi League Season 8. 

According to Dabang Delhi, Thakur is currently suffering from an injury and won't be available for the rest of the season. Nitin Panwar has been called on as the replacement and would join the team from 1st week of February.

"It is unfortunate that I won't be available for the second half of the league due to injury. My best wishes are with the team Dabang Delhi K.C. and I'm sure that the team will perform at its best and finish on the top," Ajay Thakur said in a statement.

Ajay Thakur made only 5 appearances in the season so far, with raiders like Naveen Kumar, Vijay and Neeraj Narwal heading the raiding department for Dabang Delhi for most of the games.

Apart from Ajay Thakur, Delhi is also currently missing the services of both Naveen Kumar and Joginder Narwal for the past few games.

Nitin was a part of the K7 Kabaddi Qualifiers that were conducted in Jaipur in December 2021, and represented Umaid Hawks in the tournament. The player also went on to the award for the ''Best Raider'' from Pool B. He scored 58 points in 87 raids (67% strike rate) in the Rajasthan Qualifiers.

Nitin is known by the name ''Fauji'' across the Kabaddi fraternity and started playing Kabaddi 4 yrs ago. The player was also the part of Telangana Premier League. Nitin joined the army in 2019 and is a part of Red Army team since the last 2 months.

Delhi would look to continue their winning streak as they face Jaipur Pink Panthers on Wednesday (Feb 3).
