Gujarat Giants: PKL 10 Retained and Released players list

Having been introduced to the Pro Kabaddi League from Season 5 onwards, Gujarat Giants are yet to have a gloryfying campaign that could land them a PKL title. They have experienced thorough ups and downs in the last 4 seasons and under new management for PKL 10, Gujarat will hope for a radical season.

But to ensure a decent season, Gujarat Giants will have to operate smartly in the player auction. Head coach Ram Mehar Singh will have to think differently when accumulating his squad with a variety of exciting Kabaddi talents present at this year's player pool.

Gujarat Giants have retained 5 players in total with 2 players listed in Elite players list and Exisiting young players list each and 1 player in the Retained young player list. Defender Manuj and Raider Sonu find themselves as Elite players, Rohan Singh and Parteek Dahiya are the Existing young players and Rakesh is the sole Retained young player.

Ram Mehar Singh's side have let go of experienced names like Korea's Dong Geon Lee and Indian veterans Chandran Ranjit, Sandeep Kandola and Rinku Narwal. These players were key in the Gujarat squad and it will be interesting to see who will be welcomed back to the squad using 3 FBM cards.

Last season, they finished 6th in the table but they have reached the Top 4, Thrice in last 5 seasons. Their best chance of winning the Pro Kabaddi League title came in 2018 (season 6) but they thwarted in front of Bengaluru Bulls by a margin of just 5 points.

After missing out on play-offs in season 7, Gujarat Giants were eliminated by Bengaluru Bulls once again in Eliminator 2 by 49-29. They need players with winning mentality and those who can handle the pressure during crunch phases.

In 22 matches last season, Gujarat Giants won just 9, lost 11 and Drew 2 to finish with 59 points. They will have their shot at bolstering their squad on 8th and 9th September at Mumbai when the player auctions take place.
