PKL 10: Forecasting Bengal Warriors Playing 7 for Clash against Bengaluru Bulls
The Bengal Warriors, the champions of the seventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League, are all set to kick off their campaign in the 2023 season of the league against a formidable and mighty Bengaluru Bulls side. Bengal will be playing their first game on December 4, 2023, at the Arena in Ahmedabad.
Bengal Warriors had released their main player, Maninder Singh, before the auction but managed to buy him back for a whopping price of INR 2.12 crore.
The Bengal management spent a total of INR 4.97 crore in the auction to complete their squad for this season. We will see a lot of new players playing for them this season, as below we predict their starting seven for the match against the Bengaluru Bulls.
Predicted Starting 7 for the Bengal Warriors:
1. Center: Maninder Singh
The captain of the Bengal Warriors and one of the top raiders in the league will be playing in the center position for the Bengal Warriors. He scored 238 raid points in the last season and will look to score a lot more this time around.
2. Left Cover: Shreyas Umbardand
Shreyas Umbardand, who was retained by the management after PKL season 9, will be handling the defensive duties in the left cover position for his team. He did not get a game in the last season but is likely to make his PKL debut this year.
3. Right Cover: Vaibhav Garje
The right cover position will be handled by Vaibhav Garje, who took the mat in 18 games last season for the Bengal Warriors. He scored 30 points in the same position the previous season.
4. Left Corner: Nitin Rawal
Nitin Rawal, who played for the Haryana Steelers in PKL season 9, was bought by the Bengal Warriors for INR 30 lakhs. He will be playing in the left corner position and will be the lead defender in the young defensive department of Bengal.
5. Right Corner: Shubham Shinde
Bengal spent heavily on buying defenders at the auction, and one of the big names purchased was Shubham Shinde, whose services were acquired for INR 32.25 lakh. He will be playing in the right corner position for the Bengal Warriors in PKL 10.
6. Left In: Shrikant Jadhav
Shrikant Jadhav, who had played for the Bengal Warriors in the previous seasons of PKL, was bought once again by them in the auction to be the second fiddle to their main raider, Maninder Singh. He scored 123 raid points in the last season.
7. Right In: Nitin Kumar
The young raider, Nitin Kumar, received a staggering bid of INR 32.20 lakhs from the Bengal Warriors to play for them this season. He is likely to play his first PKL game tonight against the Bengaluru Bulls as the third raider on the team.
