Pro Kabaddi League 2023: After Disappointing Campaign Last Year Bengal Warriors Eye Glory in PKL Season 10

After a below-par performance in the 9th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the Bengal Warriors are gearing up for a fresh start in the landmark 10th season. Eager to put the previous season behind them, the Season 7 PKL champions have strategized their squad, retaining key players and making strategic additions to mount a strong campaign in Season 10.

PKL Season 10: Core of Bengal Warriors

Ahead of the Season 10 Player Auction, Bengal Warriors retained four players, all hailing from the Existing New Young Players category. Using all three available Final Bid Match (FBM) cards, the team secured the services of raiders Maninder Singh and Shrikant Jadhav, along with defender Shubham Shinde, signaling their commitment to a core group of seasoned performers.

 

Raiders for Bengal Warriors in PKL 10

The raiding duo of Maninder Singh and Shrikant Jadhav showcased their prowess in Season 9, with Singh emerging as the fifth-best raider in the league, amassing an impressive 238 raid points. Jadhav, contributing 123 raid points, complemented Singh effectively, making them one of the top raiding pairs in the league. The addition of Nitin Rawal, a PKL-experienced player, adds depth to the raiding department. Rawal, who impressed at the recent Asian Games, is expected to bring his form to Season 10.

The trio of Maninder Singh, Shrikant Jadhav, and Nitin Rawal, each with five or more PKL seasons under their belts, forms a vastly experienced core for the Bengal Warriors. The team's success will heavily rely on their ability to click and deliver solid performances throughout the upcoming season. To bolster their all-round capabilities, the Warriors have added another versatile player, Akshay Bharat, to the squad.

In terms of young raiding talent, the Warriors have added promising names like Vishwas S, Suyog Gaikar, R Guhan, Parshant Kumar, Aslam Thambi, Akshay Jaywant Bodake, Maharudra Garje, Nitin Kumar, and Chai-Ming Chang to their roster, injecting youth and energy into the squad.

Defenders for Bengal Warriors in PKL 10 

On the defensive front, Shubham Shinde and Vaibhav Garje emerge as key pillars for Bengal Warriors. Shinde, with an impressive 43 tackle points in Season 9, is expected to be a defensive mainstay in Season 10. Vaibhav Garje, retained from the Existing New Young Players category, demonstrated promise in his debut season with 30 tackle points, including a High 5.

The Warriors have also secured the services of young defensive talents such as Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Umbardand, Aditya S. Shinde, and Dipak Arjun Shinde to further fortify their defensive lineup.

With a well-balanced squad comprising experienced raiders, promising young talents, and solid defensive options, the Bengal Warriors are setting their sights on redemption and their second PKL title. The team, under the leadership of seasoned players and with a mix of youth and experience, is poised to make a strong bid for glory in Pro Kabaddi League Season 10.
