Haryana Steelers: PKL 10 Retained and Released List

When North-Indian Pro Kabaddi League outfit Haryana Steelers sit at the auction table on September, they will have an imperative task to carry out as they will be trying to do better and make the State of Haryana proud, which is a hub of precious Kabaddi talent.

Despite that fact, Haryana Steelers have been unable win the competition and ahead of PKL 10, the Steelers have released several players that formed a weak core last term. September will be a decisive month for all the teams in PKL but specifically for Haryana steelers.

Raiders Manjeet Dahiya, Meetu and Rakesh Narwal who did show a bit of promise last year have been put to the player pool. Youngster Manjeet could be brought back into the fray as he finished as the 9th Best raider of Season 9 with 149 raid points in 22 matches.

One of the reasons for his exclusion is his unprecedented and sudden knack of getting a little inconsistent and out of rhythm in important matches. Meetu on the other hand was his team's highest scoring raider after Manjeet and often served as the deputy.

Meetu claimed 135 raid points in 20 outings and Rakesh Narwal had a below par season. If we talk about their retentions then they have retained a total of 8 players - 2 Raiders and 6 defenders. They have kept raider K Prapanjan in the elite player list, which is a little surprising given that he underperformed to that of the released raiders.

Defensive duo Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Nandal who shared 98 tackle points between them last season, find themselves in the Retained young players list along with Raider Vinay. Sunny Sehrawat, Harsh, Naveen Kundu and Monu Hooda form up the Existing young players category.

They had a 7th place finish last season with 61 points, enduring and enjoying 10 losses-Wins respectively with 2 draws. Furthermore, players like Joginder Singh, Iranian powerhouse Amirhossein Bastami and Indian team's Defender Nitin Rawal have all been axed.

When they will sit at the Auction table it will be interesting to see their choices to use their 3 Final Bid Match (FBM) card. Mumbai will host PKL 10's player auction on 8th and 9th September. It will feature many explosive and talented players and teams will have a lot of optons to choose from.
