PKL 10: Who are the owners of Jaipur Pink Panthers ?

Jaipur Pink Panthers is one of the most famous teams in the Pro Kabaddi League. The franchise represents the Pink City of India, which is Jaipur. They are one of the eight franchises to feature in all nine editions so far. In fact, they are the winners of the inaugural edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. Also, Jaipur Pink Panthers are just the second team to win two or more titles in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. They achieved this feat when they lifted the 9th and the most recent edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. 

The Jaipur Pink Panthers is very famous because of the involvement of celebrities. The franchise is owned by actor Abhishek Bachchan. It is a well-known fact that actor Abhishek Bachchan is a sports enthusiast and is the proud owner of the Chennaiyin franchise in Indian Super League Football as well. Both his teams have performed well in their respective sports and both teams have a massive fan following. Of course, the owners' popularity has something to do with the teams' fan following. That being said, both teams are consistent throughout the year and are well-deserved as well. Every year, Abhishek Bachchan would invite his father Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai to watch a 
game and allow the players to take pictures with the family. 

In 2014, when the legendary family turned up for the game, the team got thrashed by U Mumba, and the focus light was on Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan rather than the match. Therefore, in order to avoid any distraction, the family doesn't attend a lot of matches these days and if they are attending, the management would make sure that the players are able to meet them all once the match gets over.

Jaipur Pink Panthers are just the second time to win the championship more than once. Only Patna Pirates have won it thrice. The Jaipur Pink Panthers won the trophy in the inaugural edition, and they lifted the trophy in the recent edition. 

In the first year, they proved too good for other teams, winning 10 out of 14 matches. However, the team faced a form slump in the following two editions, finishing 5th and 6th. They bounced back in the 4th edition and reached the final only to lose against Patna Pirates. For the next four years, they didn't have a performance to talk about as they didn't make it to the knockouts. In fact, they ended the 7th edition at 7, and the 8th edition at 8. 

In the 9th edition, the team was outstanding once again. They finished the league stage at the top of the table and then went on to defeat Puneri Paltan in the final by 33-29. 

Arjun Deshwal was the stand-out performer for the team as the star raider ended with the most Raid points. He grabbed 296 points to his name. Also, Ankush's defence made all the difference for the team. He grabbed the most tackle points, 89, in the season.

Going into the next season, Jaipur Pink Panthers will look to continue their dream run and not lose it all just like they did after winning the first edition. Once again, they will be hopeful that Arjun Deshwal comes up well for them in the Pro Kabaddi League 10. Arjun Deshwal's consistent performance in recent times has earned him a place in the Asia Kabaddi Championship. He will bolster the attack along with the star raiders Naveen Kumar and Pawan Sehrawat in the Indian team.

Also, it will be interesting to see whom they get to retain and who they decide to let go. Considering how good the 9th edition was for the team, it is going to be a difficult task to let go of the players.
