Teams from south dominates at Day 1 of the Senior National Women Championship

A host of games took place in the first day of the 68th Senior Nationals (Women) lets look back at some of the best moments from it.

 

 

The first day of the 68th senior national women took place at charki Dadri Haryana, which kicked one of the most important tournaments in the women's kabaddi circuit. 

12 games from the initial league stage were held on the first day of the tournament. Tournament favorites Haryana kicked off their campaign against a less experience Manipur side and completely dominated them in a one-sided encounter, with the game finishing in favor of Haryana  53-19.

Their fellow Neighbours Punjab And Himachal kicked off their campaign in a similar style with big wins against West Bengal and Vidarbha. Vidarbha had a day to forget as they lost yet another game against Jharkhand 34-21 with a tough task ahead of them tomorrow to recover from this setback. 

The game of the day belonged to Chhattisgarh VS Chandigarh. This was an end-to-end roller coaster that Chhattisgarh edged out eventually by 33 to 32.

The first heavyweight clash of the tournament saw Rajasthan dominating over Gujarat announcing their title credentials.
 
Teams from down south had a good day at the office, showing great composure and professionalism out on the mat. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh all won their games in style with Karnataka winning a close game against the mighty UP walas.

The day ended with a southern derby between Goa and Kerela with, GOA taking Kerela by surprise to win the game by a big margin of 22 points to close Day 1 of the Senior Nationals Women.
