The Senior National Kabaddi Championship 2021 went underway in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar International Stadium, Faizabad on 13th April 2021.  A total of 30 state and department teams from India are fighting it out for the championship in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The premier national Kabaddi tournament has always been an eye catchy tournament in the Indian Kabaddi ecosystem where the best of talent are seen action.

Three bizzare events took place on Day 2 of 68th Senior Nationals. 

1. A new team from Haryana arrived. Haryana CO (court order) was placed with Services in Pool B. They lost two out of their 3 matches to be sent packing home again. 

2. In Pool E matches, Haryana lost to Tripura (17-50). The only probable explanation for the this is that Haryana wanted to play UP in the pre-quarters instead of Chandigarh. In Pool F matches, Bihar lost to J&K (17-31). But such 'strategic' play definitely doesn't do the sport of Kabaddi any good. 

All pool matches of 68th Senior Nationals Kabaddi were conducted across Day 2 and morning of Day 3. In Pool A, Railways comfortably won both their matches to book their berth in the pre-quarters (PQs). Kerala is the other team to qualify from this pool. In Pool B, things became more interesting with the introduction of Haryana CO. Haryana won a close match against Andhra CO. Delhi and Services made sure Haryana CO do not qualify to the pre-quarters with massive wins. 

Rajasthan captain Deepak Niwas Hooda ensured that his team has no problems with 3 comfortable wins to top Pool C. Home team UP won all their matches in Pool D. However, all was not easy especially in the match against Chandigarh. Abhishek Singh was the star player for UP scoring 11 raid points in 15 raids and 4 tackle points. 

In a brilliant result, Karnataka which sent a young team qualify top of Pool G. They will face Delhi in the pre-quarters. Maharashtra comfortably topped Pool H and will face Kerala in the pre-quarters.
